We are happy to provide you with our “Adoption Guidelines“, which may aid you in securing a new and caring home for your cat(s). Please complete the “Profile” and return it along with a photo of the cat(s) so we can have the information to refer people to you. Many excellent matches are made this way. One cat per “Profile“, please.
By making arrangements in advance with Ann Allen, (415) 381-1440, you may be able to bring your cat to our Saturday adoption location (if space is available), where your cat can be seen. You do need to bring proof from your vet that the cat has been spayed or neutered, tested, and vaccinated.
We recommend that you always take the cat to the new home to make certain you are happy with the situation and that the cat(s) will and can be confined for the first 30 days. This is crucial since change; a new location and new people can be very frightening to cats.
We also recommend that you sleep on your decision to make certain you feel good about the home. There is nothing worse than placing your cat(s) and having concerns – it is much too late! We recommend indoor homes since statistics show house cats have a much longer life. If you want an indoor/outdoor home, be especially careful to check the location for safety. It is also a good idea to get an “Cat Adoption Application” and an “Adoption Agreement“ from the adopter. An example of each is attached below, which you are welcome to use.

We are not a shelter, and therefore, depend upon volunteers to foster the cats in our program. Unfortunately, needy pets far out number the foster homes available. We always encourage people to consider ideas that may enable them to keep their cat(s)…you are probably all he/she has! We would be happy to discuss this option with you.
Thank you and good luck…your cat depends on your commitment!
